VEREEN GALLERY: Chris Wilson, founder and owner of Wilson Wildlife Sculpture, began his career over 40 years ago as a student of Creative, Able, and Committed – a magnet school of the arts program. Wilson Wildlife Sculpture is his exclusive focus. His training and attention to detail have culminated in over 100 best of show awards; among them include Best of Show in 3D and People’s Choice Award at the Nature Works Art Show in 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2024.Chris’ work is inspired by nature. The beauty of birds and their ability to fly captivates him. In 2001, Chris traced the journey of his ancestor, William Bartram, through parts of the Southeast. Bartram – America’s first naturalist artist – was the first to describe many birds, plants, and animals. Wildlife, such as a great blue heron, ancient stand of trees, and primeval wilderness overwhelmed Chris with a spiritual feeling; others can experience this emotion through Chris’ fervent sculptures. In a statement by Chris, he states, “I have been blessed with a talent that I love sharing with others, and I aspire to create one-of-a-kind sculptures that can be enjoyed for generations.”
TRAVERSE GALLERY: Steven S. Walker has been creating inspiring works of art for corporations and private collectors for over twenty years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in fine arts at Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in illustration. He would later earn his masters in fine arts from Marywood University. As a full time artist, Steven has been included in several local and national juried competitions including the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional, Salon and National, Richeson 75 Landscape Competition, Plein Air Salon, the International Salon and the Art Renewal Center. Steven also had the privilege of being a part of a statewide traveling exhibition with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Steven continues to work hard on the advancement of his career, with the assistance of his lovely wife Evelyn and studio assistant/daughter Poppy. Currently, his work is represented in over ten galleries across the United States.
Sidney Cromer is a self-taught photographer from Tifton, Georgia whose passion is being out in nature taking wildlife and landscape images. He loves to plan vacation trips that take his wife, Leslie, and himself out to National Parks and other locations where he can try to capture some of the beauty found in nature. Having just become semi-retired as an Agricultural Research Assistant with the University of Georgia in August of 2024, he looks forward to getting out into the field more in pursuit of that elusive “perfect shot”. Sidney also enjoys making frames for his prints and taking them to art and craft shows. He and Leslie have four children and six grandchildren.
